I’m Jake McMichael,

Actor & Writer of the East Coast.

From the time I saw my first Broadway show as a kid, to leading my first short film in college and beyond, I dreamed of New York City. After graduating from Full Sail University with a BFA in Creative Writing for Entertainment and three lead roles in short films, I moved to Atlanta, GA to gain more on-set experience. While living back home in Maryland, I made weekly trips to New York City to study with Susan Aston of The Actors Studio — on-set acting coach of the late, great James Gandolfini. I now live in the City, and have appeared in numerous off and off-off-Broadway shows, as well as several film & television projects.

I am a recipient of the Jean Dalrymple Award for Best Supporting Actor, for my performance as The Player King in the American Theatre of Actors’ 2022 production of Hamlet.

I have also directed two shows at the American Theatre of Actors: My Motor Won’t Work, by Richard D. Auman; and Alcoholic Drama, by the late Tommy LeVrier.

I am a playwright for the Actors Studio Playwrights/Directors Workshop, where I am workshopping a full-length play.
